Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone

Growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) is a hormone found in the human body. It is a 44-amino acid peptide hormone that is produced in and secreted from the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus. After secretion, GHRH is carried to the anterior pituitary gland where it stimulates production and secretion of somatotropin. In addition to causing the secretion of somatotropin, GHRH seems to directly promote slow-wave sleep. There is no synthetic form of GHRH.
