Stored In Hormones

Hitler’s unusual treatments

Hitler’s unusual treatments

What has the most feared and hated man in history got to do with hormones? Adolf Hitler kept much of Europe in the grip of tyranny for a few years back in the twentieth century. His reign was awful, murderous, and has left a definite black mark on the world and its history.

He was not known as a nice man. His life was one of fanaticism and terror. However, every now and then, a small titbit of information is released about this maniac and his personal life. Each small aspect of his life that is revealed is morbidly fascinating.

There was a lady in Hitler’s life by the name of Christa Schroder. This lady actually worked for the man himself. She was Adolf Hitler’s personal secretary. His dictats and memos to his murderous generals were her responsibility. In fact, it could be argued that she was closer to the man than anyone else was.

A recent revelation proves this point. The story goes that Hitler often suffered from very special hallucinations. These were not normal hallucinations, brought on by a fevered mind (although that does accurately describe Hitler’s brain). Rather, they were hallucinations, memories and visions brought about by the application of a very special substance.

According to Schroder, who has written a book, the dictator’s mood was known to change, to switch suddenly without warning. Instead of the maniacal, psychotic ramblings he was best known for, now and then he would fall into a reverie of pleasant, romantic visions. And these episodes were brought on by the injection of hormones from the testicles of bulls.

His doctor administered them. No one really knows why yet. Schroder has not only released this information though. She also goes into quite fascinating detail about some other aspects of the leader’s personality.
She could tell by his voice, for example, whether or not he was feeling calm or about to fly into a massive rage. His trembling left hand, which became very noticeable to an embarrassing extent towards the end of his days, was something he tried valiantly to cover up.

For all his completely unforgivable faults, Adolf Hitler was said to possess an impressive intellect. When she was typing up his dictation, Schroder, recollects, he would start off slow and measured in his speech. However, after a period of time, his speech would become quicker and louder. This meant that Schroder’s typing became quicker, but she was not so good at keeping up. His anger was aroused a little in these situations. But apparently, he always had something of a soft spot for his secretary.

As to why he was injected with the hormone, no one really knows yet. Maybe it was his doctor’s attempt to lessen his patient’s rages. Maybe it was just to help combat general stress. Or maybe it was just one of the dictator’s peculiar habits. We may never know, but we wouldn’t recommend trying it yourself just yet.
