Stored In Peptide Hormones

Neuropeptide Y

Neuropeptide Y (NPY) is a hormone found in the human body that consists of 36 amino acids. It is classified as a peptide hormone.

There are two major effects of NPY secretion on the human body. First, it is a feeding stimulant that causes increased storage of ingested food as fat. Second, it blocks the transmission of pain signals to the brain. There is currently no common medical use for synthetic NPY.
