Progestagens
Progestagens are a class of steroid hormones found in the human body. They have effects in both males and females; however, their primary functions are to promote ovulation, cause menstruation, and inhibit the immune system after pregnancy in order to keep the mother’s body from rejecting the fetus. Progesterone is the primary hormone in the class of progestagens.
